Corrections policy
If something on FundBiz is wrong, email [email protected] with the page address and what's wrong. We reply within two working days, check the point against a primary source, and fix the page if you're right. Material corrections also go in the public log below.
How to report an error
Email [email protected] and include:
- the page address;
- the sentence, figure or table cell you think is wrong;
- what you think it should say, and a source if you have one.
A link to the source saves the most time. We check against primary sources, such as Companies House, the FCA Register, the Bank of England, HMRC guidance, legislation.gov.uk and a lender's own current documents, not other websites.
What counts as a material correction
A correction is material if a reader could make a worse decision because of the error. That covers:
- a wrong rate, fee, threshold, date, deadline or tax figure;
- a wrong company number, company name or regulatory status;
- a wrong statement of what a law, a scheme or HMRC guidance says;
- a wrong fact or score about a named lender;
- anything untrue about how FundBiz works, who receives your enquiry or how we're paid.
Typos, broken links and layout faults are fixed as soon as we see them, without a log entry.
What happens after you tell us
- We reply within two working days to say we've got it.
- We check the disputed point against a primary source.
- If you're right, we fix the page. Where the same fact sits in a shared data file, we fix it there, so every page that shows it changes together.
- We log the change, so the page's "Last updated" date moves. We never move a date without changing or reviewing the content.
- If it was material, we add it to the log on this page.
- If we don't agree, we tell you why and what source we relied on.
If you're a lender we review
Any lender we review can ask us to correct its factual entry (company number, founded year, loan sizes, rates, decision time) or to look again at its rating and summary. Email [email protected] with the lender name and the point in dispute. We check it against the lender's current published material and primary sources and reply within five working days. A rating changes when the evidence supports it, not because a lender asks. The full right of reply is in our editorial policy.
Corrections are not complaints
If you're unhappy with how we've treated you, rather than with a fact on a page, use our complaints route in the trust centre. A complaint about a finance product itself may need to go to the firm that provided it.
Corrections log
The log starts with this policy on 23 September 2026. The entries before that date are the largest corrections we made in September 2026, listed so you can see what changed. Smaller fixes from that period were made on the pages without a log entry. Every entry was checked against its source and on the live page before it was listed here.
| Date | Subject | What was wrong | What it says now | Where |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 23 September 2026 | Pluto Finance review | We still carried a review of Pluto Finance as an active lender. | Its website had become a holding page saying the domain may be for sale, so we removed the review. The old address redirects to our lenders page. | Lenders |
| 17 September 2026 | How FundBiz works | Pages across the site described a matching service, a lender panel, soft credit searches run by FundBiz, indicative offers and commission from lenders. None of that was how FundBiz worked. | Corrected sitewide (our own inventory found 1,080 such statements; 1,078 were rewritten and 2 were already accurate). We pass enquiries to one business finance broker, which pays us a fixed fee for each one. We do not run credit checks, match you to lenders or take lender commission. | How we are funded, How we work |
| 16 September 2026 | Lender company numbers | Our Funding Circle entry gave company number 07123069, which belongs to B.A.Z. Management Ltd. Our YouLend entry gave 09111373, which belongs to Unisure Ltd. | Funding Circle Ltd is 06968588 and YouLend Limited is 12576377, both checked on Companies House. | Funding Circle, YouLend |
| 15 September 2026 | Bank of England base rate | Three pages said the base rate was 4.50% and last changed on 18 March 2026. | The base rate is 3.75% and last changed on 18 December 2025, per the Bank of England. | DSCR for commercial mortgages, Recruitment agency cash flow finance, VAT loan worked example |
| 15 September 2026 | Section 455 tax rate | Our director's loan calculator and related pages used 33.75% as the rate for all overdrawn director's loans. | The rate depends on when the loan was made: 35.75% for loans made from 6 April 2026, 33.75% from 6 April 2022 to 5 April 2026 (HMRC Company Taxation Manual CTM61505). The calculator now asks for the loan date. | S455 calculator |

Version history of this policy
| Version | Date | What changed |
|---|---|---|
| 2 | 23 September 2026 | This page. Sets out what counts as material, how corrections show on a page and how lenders challenge a review, and starts a public log. Our trust centre used to say material corrections were noted in a footer line on the page. We never had a footer line for that, so the trust centre now describes what we actually do. |
| 1 | Before 23 September 2026 | Corrections were covered by a short paragraph in our editorial policy and trust centre: email us, we reply within two working days, and material errors are fixed on the page. |
