Free business finance templates
The three financial statements a lender asks for, as free templates you can download or copy: a 12-month cash flow forecast, a profit and loss account, and a balance sheet. Each comes with a worked example and a plain-English guide to what the numbers mean and how an underwriter reads them. No email required.
Cash flow forecast template (12-month)
Project the cash moving in and out month by month, and see the month you run short before it happens. The forecast a lender asks for.
Profit and loss template
Turnover down to net profit, with a this-year and last-year column. Shows gross margin, operating profit and the trend an underwriter reads first.
Balance sheet template
A snapshot of what the business owns and owes, with net current assets, net assets and gearing, the figures a lender checks.
Business budget template (12-month)
Plan income and costs month by month, then measure actuals against it. The budget-versus-actual discipline that keeps a business on track.
One-page business plan template
The whole business on one page: what you do, the numbers, and the ask and use of funds a lender reads first.
Director's loan agreement template
Record a loan between a company and a director, plus the s455 tax, the £10,000 benefit-in-kind threshold and board approval, sourced to gov.uk.
Once your figures are in, put them to work: the DSCR calculator checks whether operating profit can carry a loan, and the working capital cycle calculator shows how much cash your trading ties up. When you are ready, the eligibility checker matches you to panel lenders with no impact on your credit score.
