How we work

FundBiz publishes guides, lender reviews, comparisons and calculators about UK business finance. If you send an enquiry, we pass your details to one business finance broker, FundingXperts Ltd, who contacts you about your options. FundBiz does not lend, does not run credit checks and does not match you to lenders.

What happens when you send an enquiry

  1. You fill in the enquiry form (about 2 minutes): your business, what you need and how to contact you.
  2. We save your enquiry and email it to FundingXperts Ltd (company 13384238), which describes itself as an independent business credit broker. We email you a confirmation.
  3. FundingXperts contacts you by phone or email about finance options and may introduce you to lenders.
  4. Any lender runs its own checks, which may include a credit search, and makes its own decision.

FundingXperts pays us a fixed fee for each enquiry. You pay us nothing. Details are in how we are funded and our privacy notice.

Our lender reviews

We review UK business lenders as editorial research. The reviews are not a lender panel, and FundBiz does not send enquiries to the lenders we review. Every lender we name is checked against the official register at Companies House: registered name, company number, status and incorporation date. See how Companies House identity verification affects lender comfort and the structured UK business finance lender index.

How we research and who writes this

Every page is desk research against primary sources. Our editorial policy sets out how we source, check and date each guide. Adam Parker writes the FundBiz library. FundBiz is run by Best Business Loans Ltd, directed by Oliver Mackman. Terms we use are defined in the business finance glossary.

How we reference base rate

Where a product prices off the Bank of England Official Bank Rate (asset finance, commercial mortgages, term lending), we read the live rate from the Bank of England Statistical Database rather than hardcoding a figure, so the rate shown in the site-wide ticker never drifts out of date. Merchant cash advance does not price off base rate; it uses a fixed factor rate, which the MCA factor-rate to APR converter turns into a comparable annualised cost.

Who the enquiry form is for

The enquiry form is intended for UK limited companies (Ltd), limited liability partnerships (LLP) and partnerships with four or more partners. It is not intended for sole traders or unincorporated businesses.

What we do not do

  • Charge you. FundingXperts pays our fee; you pay us nothing.
  • Run any credit search.
  • Match, score or rank you against lenders, or predict approval.
  • Send your enquiry to lenders, or anyone other than FundingXperts.
  • Give financial advice.
  • Claim to be FCA regulated. FundBiz is not a lender and is not authorised by the FCA.
